Countdown to 2014’s Top Ten Books: Five Great Series Continuations

wispAs I work on my Top Ten list for 2014, I have some categories of books that may not make the top ten, but deserve special recognition anyway. Today’s category is series continuations.

As a reader, it is hard finding a new series … but it’s even harder keeping one. These five books were published in 2014, and made great additions to existing series.

5. Night Broken (Mercy Thompson #8) by Patricia Briggs

4. The Caller (Shadowfell #3) by Juliet Marillier

3. The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) by Deborah Harkness

2. Ruin and Rising (The Grisha, #3) by Leigh Bardugo

1. Wisp of a Thing  (Tufa, #2) by Alex Bledsoe

Readers: What were your favorite series in 2014? Did you start any new ones?

  1. I absolutely agree about the Mercy Thompson books! Some series just drag on and on — but I really can’t get enough Mercy, and hope that there are many more to come!

I hope so too! the most recent book was a lot better than the two before it – you can tell she benefited from slowing down. Can’t wait for the next Alpha and Omega, too.
